- the model of the ship were the French schooner with a large sailing area an sharp lines, what made them very fast and manoeuvrable, therefore they were used to protect the French coast and trading routes and against the slave trade in the 19th century.
- the 'La Recouvrance' has no guns today but the painted gun ports on the hull remember to the use of her ancestors, she has got a long bowsprit and a strong fall of masts.
- her launching was a highlight of the sailing festival of Brest in 1992.
- her name means "good return".
- 1995 she visited the Sail Amsterdam, 1996 Bristol and participation of the sailing event in Brest 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, Sail Bremerhaven 2000 and 2010.
- 2010 maintenance work and overhaul of the ship, change of the engine.
