  • specifically designed and built for Class Afloat, as a college for students of natural science and politics, the studends are simultaneously the crew of the ship when it sails around the world each year.
  • ship is classified and fullfills high standards of safety, managed by a professional crew.
  • since 1985 more than 500 students have participated, travelling over 350,000 nautical miles to hundreds of ports worldwide (first experiences were made with the "Pogoria", before the shipp was built then).
  • capsized and sank on 17 February 2010 550 kilometres southeast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in rough seas and high winds, all 64 people (48 students, 8 teachers and 8 crew) were rescued.
