  • built in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, for the 1962 movie "The Munity on the Bounty" by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
  • built to the original Admirality plans, but is about 9 m longer than the original to enable the accomodation of the film crew and their equipment.
  • sailed to the Pitcairn island, where the origibal Bounty I was destroyed, MGM decided to keep the ship.
  • after that she visited some American ports, and London in 1962, and New York 1964, serving as a tourist attraction dockside for many years.
  • operated by the non-profit Tall Ship Bounty Foundation since 1993, in winter her home is St. Peterburg, Florida, in summer she sails out from Fall River, Massachusetts.
  • in 1998 she almost sank off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina/USA, because of her bad condition (leak in the stern), she was docked and needed help to go under sail again,
  • sold to R. Hansen of the Long Island Air Conditioning company Island Air on the end of 2000, the new owner intended to restore the ship bring her back to work as a sail training vessel.
  • restored, initially at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard in 2002, with replacement of 100% of the vessel below the water line including the bottom planking, garboards and 95% of all frames, new rudder installed; 2004 installation of 2 new engines (John Deere); subsequently, in Bayou La Battre, Alabama in 2005 all square sails along with all standing rigging of the ship were replaced; in 2006 replacement of all ribs on the vessel insertion of a new stern post in Boothbay Harbor, new interior layout.
  • visited Europe in 2011.
  • lost in hurrican "Sandy" on Oct. 29, 2012 off the American East coast about 90 miles southeast of the Outer Banks; 2 crew members are missed.
