  • built in commission of a German navigator as a sailing cargo vessel at the shipyard Johs. Thormählen & Co. in Elmshorn, GER rigged as a besan ewer, name "Herta".
  • 1911 change of the owner and new home port Abbenfleth, GER.
  • 1917 new owner and new home port in Stade, GER, equipped with a new engine.
  • since 1928 registered for inland navigation only.
  • 1950 purchased by a owner from Hechthausen, GER; change of name to "Ingeborg", 1954 another owner from Wilster, GER
  • 1963 after heavyly damaged by a storm in the port of Elmshorn deleted from the inland navigation register, laid up in Glückstadt, GER
  • 1973 bought by new owner E. Heinemann who kept the ship from being dismantled, authentic restoration at a shipyard in Hamburg-Allermöhe finished in 1985.
  • 1985 purchased by Ilo von Waltershausen, operated by the association "Segelnde Museumsschiffe Hamburg e.V." she often sails with young people in the Baltic, the mud-flats on the coast of Germany or at the river Elbe.
  • since 2002 she belongs to the Stiftung Hamburg Maritim, operated by the association "Freunde des Besan-Ewers JOHANNA e.V.".
