  • built on the Isle of Man as a fully-rigged ship in 1863
  • she sailed under the name "Euterpe" (name after a Greek goodess of music) for several British shipping companies to India, South Australia and New Zealand rounding the Cape Hoorn,
  • 1899 sold to the Pacific Colonial Ship Company from San Francisco used to transport Wood and cool between Australia and America
  • 1901 sold to the Alaska Packers Association, general overhaul and rigged down to a barque, renamed to "Star of India", she sailed from California to the Bering Sea each spring with a load of fishermen, cannery hands, box shook and tin plate and back with canned salmon, in service until 1923
  • 1926 sold to the Zoological Society of San Diego, she should become a centerpiece of the oceanographical museum, but the depression and the WWII delayed her restoration
  • 1957 a group of inhabitants, lead by the Captain Alan Villiers, desided to restore the ship what was done until her 100th birthday
  • since 1976 she sailed again several short trips
  • 1997 another general overhaul was finished
