  • built at the shipyard Friedrich Krupp, todays Germaniawerft in Kiel, GER in 1930 for Walter G. Ladd, named the "Etak" as the reversion of the name Kate, the owner's wife, renamed the "Vega" in 1938.
  • in the 1940s and during WWII she was the property of the United States Pacific Coastal duty under the name "USS Juanita", she escaped any heavy alterations of her superstructures.
  • in the 1950 she sailed the South Pacific, dismasted near Tahiti in 1951, since then without the topmasts after the refit.
  • change of the owner, she became South Pacific Touring Yacht and was renamed the "Te Vega", installation of engines in the mid of the 1950s.
  • cruised the Windward Islands in the early 1960s, the Stanford University of Palo Alto, California employed her for some famous oceanographic ecological studies in the Pacific.
  • 1969 aquired by George Stoll to use her as a training ship of the Flint School, overhauled in 1972.
  • in March 1981 the Flint School was closed, "Te Vega" was sold to a Dutch owner and leased by the Landmark School of Prides Crossing, Massachusetts.
  • participated the Helsinki-Falsterbo-Regatta 1972.
  • In 1989 40 Americans and 40 Soviets participated in a round-trip sail across the Atlantic Ocean from News York to Leningrad (St. Petersburg). The trip was undertaken to show that the peoples of these great nations can undertake important projects and activities together.
  • In 1991, the owner went bankrupt and "Te Vega", which is impounded in a Portuguese yard, is almost sold for scrap, bought by the Italian Calisto Tanzi of Parma and during the next 4.5 years restored to her near original glory first at the Bilbao shipyards and then at the shipyard Cantieri Navale Beconcini in La Spezia, Italy.
  • today she is a comfortable and functional yacht, suitable for long cruises.
