  • built as a training ship under sail in Denmark in 1932, launched on 19 November 1932 and commissioned in June 1933 to train young seamen for the merchant marine.
  • 1939 surprised by the outbreak of World War II during a training voyage in New York, the vessel was made available to the American government, first laid up in Jacksonville, Florida, later when the United States entered the war "Danmark" used to train around 5,000 cadets.
  • returned to Denmark in 1945, since then she sails two longer training cruises each year to train officers and future able-bodied seamen, since 1990 she usually sails one longer training voyage.
  • participates in sailing ship meetings and Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races.
  • mayor overhaul in the early 1990s.
