  • built as the topsail schooner "Friedrich" at the German shipyard C. Lühring in Brake, used as a merchant sailing ship between Hamburg and Rio de la Plata.
  • 1923 sold to Sweden, renamed to "Merry", from 1923 to 1969 she was a coastal freighter in the North and Baltic Seas before being converted step by step into a motor vessel.
  • 1969 a fire broke out in the engine room, completely destroying the wheelhouse and her timber poop deck.
  • she was bought by a British-Australian organization in 1973 and rigged as a brigantine.
  • she circumnavigated the globe in 1976-78 and 1978-80.
  • from 1982, she undertook cruises out of Hobart/Australia.
  • the ship was completely overhauled in 1987.
  • sailed with the fleet to the 200th anniversary celebrations of the discovery of Australia in Sydney and then on to Lisbon in 1991; rounded Cape Horn and took part in the 1992 Columbus Regatta.
  • she also sailed in the 1996 Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race from from Rostock-St. Petersburg-Turku-Copenhagen.
  • in 2000 the International Sailing Craft Association (ISCA) tried to keep the vessel under British flag and continue to sail in the same spirit, as a sail training ship; this project failed because of economical reasons.
  • on the end of 2000 sold to a Danish owner how wants to convert and use as a private yacht, general overhaul in Hvide Sande, DK in 2001, new accomodation, new decks, new sails and conforming to the highest safety standards, 2002 replacement of the Gardner engine by a stronger Caterpillar in Curacao, Caribbean.
  • in April 2009 purchased by the German operator "train & sail", used for team building and maritime education programmes, mainly for managers; since 2013 registerred as sail training ship.
