- sailed as a cargo sailing ship transporting wood, salt and grain in the Baltic Sea until 1950 and then used as a motor vessel.
- rebuilt as a ketch for charter trips between 1972 and 1980. A first unsucccessful attempt to go around the world was abandoned due to damage to the ship.
- conversion to a schooner brig in 1982.
- successful circumnavigation Operation Raleigh 1984-1988 ( 60,000 sm ) combined with excursions, archeological expeditions and meteorological measurements.
- voyages with different kinds of passengers based in Southampton.
- since 1988 registerred in Liverpool, owner and operator is the Mersey Heritage Trust.
- featured on the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are programme in 2008, when interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen sailed on the vessel.
- sunk in Sept. 2015 in Liverpool's Albert Dock, preparations to raise her again.
