  • built 1909 at the shipyard J.J.Pattje & Zn. in Waterhuizen/NL as schooner "Ernst Wilhelm" for Captain F.M. Kortum from Neustadt/Schleswig-Holstein, registration in Hamburg/GER.
  • registered in 1914 with the name "Hans", 1916 moved to Holtenau/GER.
  • 1921 installation of the first engine, return to Hamburg and renaming to "Pirat", 1922 extension of the interior.
  • 1925 renaming to "Klaus Hinrich Karstens", registered in Hamburg.
  • 1927-1933 registered under the name "Einigkeit" in Brake/GER, basic hull renewal after stranding.
  • 1933 renaming to "Genius", registration in Hamburg.
  • 1950 lengthening of the hull.
  • registered in Glückstadt/GER from 1965 and in Kiel/GER from 1968, laid up unused since 1968.
  • 1976 sold to the Netherlands, registration in Stavoren/NL under the name "Zuiderzee" shortening of the hull, restoration as a schooner and conversion for charter trips with sailing guests, since 1978 charter cruises in the Baltic Sea and North Sea.
  • 1991/92 further overhaul of the ship.
