- built after plans by K.C. Agerskov at the Stora Varvet, called Södra Varvet, in Stockholm as racing yacht for the schnapps manufacturer Edvard Cederlund in 1868, lauched as the "Vanadis", the Newfoundland schooners and racing yachts competiting on the Isle of Wight for the Ameica's Cup since 1851 have been the model of this ship.
- used as a private racing yacht for about 30 years.
- Cederlund donated "Vanadis" in 1897 to the Royal Swedish Navy, used for courier and pilot services and due to her fastness hunting smugglers on the Swedish coast.
- 1898/99 participation in an expedition and circumnavigation of the world, according unconfirmed rumor she has been the leisure yacht of the Swedish crown prince in this time.
- until 1914 exclusively used by officers of the navy before non-commissioned could use her too from 1915.
- 1920 overhaul after plans of the "Igenjördepartementet Kungl. Flottansvarv Stockholm", before she was given together with the schooner "Albatros" to the Royal Swedish Yacht Club in 1925.
- in winter 1939/40 sold to the private owner L. Lenmor, who studied shipbuilding in this time and earned some money during vacation.
- further she changes the owner 4 times, before "Vanadis" came to Germany in 1956 and was renamed the "Valdivia", 1956 fitted with the first engine.
- 1978-81 restored true to the original abstaining any luxury.
- she was based in Flensburg then belonging to the local museum port
- 2003 sold to a shipyard owner of Rendsburg who intended to overhaul her, renamed the "Vanadis" again
