  • a modern windjammer characterized by her easy of use, belongs to a series of six ships of the same type built in Gdansk in the 1980s, sister ships are the "Druzhba" (1987), "Mir" (1987), "Pallada" (1988) and "Nadezhda" (1989), some smaller ist the first ship of this series, the "Dar Mlodziezy" (1981)
  • keel laid on 12/24/87, commissioned on 03/20/89.
  • since 1991 the sailtraining ship flies the Ukrainian flag and is used to train young cadets on up to date equipment in modern rooms, to meet the costs of voyages paying trainees can sail aboard the ship.
  • owner is the Kerch Marine Technological Institut.
  • has been sailing around South America under the command of captain Sukhina in 1996/97, this has brought her to beautiful destinations such as the Canaries, the Caribbean, the Panama Channel, Cape Horn and Tenerife, the "Khersones" sailed around Cape Horn under sailpower only (26 January 1997 at wind force 7 to 8 and high visibility) and so achieved a permanent place in sailing history. She was awarded an "Albatross" trophy by Admiral Benavente (Chile) to commemorate the occasion.
  • participated the Sail Bremerhaven, was the Rostock Hanse Sail flag-ship for many years.
  • 2006 prohibition to leave the port by the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture, since then she was chained in Kerch, resulting in extensive demands for cost compensation by investors, especially German friends supported the ship then to bring her under sails again.
  • adopted in 2014 as part of Russia's annexation of Crimea, apparently overhauled in 2015 in Sevastopol, since then used under the Russian flag.
  • the ship's name comes from a more than 2000 years old Greek settlement on the area of the nowadays Sevastopol.
